Summer 2010 -2011 news

Hi there all

For those of you who dont know me my name is Eric Dennis. I am the treasurer of the Flinders University Baseball and Softball Club. You are receiving this email because you have either signed up for our website, have expressed interest in or have played baseball for Flinders at the university games in past years.

We are currently recruiting players for the upcoming summer baseball season. So if you are interested in playing baseball or softball with flinders over the coming summer please read on. If not thank you for your time. For newcomers, the summer baseball season in Adelaide runs from mid October to mid march. We play on Saturday afternoons and hold a training session one evening during the week.

We have set Saturday September 11 at 12pm to begin preseason training and we will look to continue a Saturday or Sunday training session up until the season starts. We train on our home diamond which is the baseball field located on the Sturt campus at flinders just off Sturt road on university drive. If you would like any more information or would like to join us for preseason, please feel free to contact me on this email address at any time.

If you are interested in playing softball, flinders does not currently have a team, but we are looking to enter a team if we can get the numbers. We do have a number of girls playing softball in the local leagues so if you are interested in playing, please let me know and I can forward your details onto someone who can get you playing if flinders cant get a team up and running.

Thank you all for your time. Apologies to those who may already know this information. Also, the club is open to everyone so if you have any other friends or family interested in playing, flinders students or not, please bring them along.

That time of year again. The date for first training is 11th of sept at 12pm at our home diamond.

We will be about a month off from start date so please make an effort to get out!

Please people that are bringing new guys out can you send me their details for contact or can you let them know.

ps. anyone interested in buying a baum bat for this season(we must use timber from 2010 on) please let eric or myself know as we are about to send an order off. $170us a bat (or buy here for $300aus). the more bats we buy the cheaper the cost for shipping.

Winterball Presentation

Thanks to everyone that took part in 2010 winterbaseball.

We have had a good season and ending up making the finals which is a was a great effort.

Lets calibrate our achievements on Friday 3rd of September at 7.30pm with presentation night.

Pizza and other foods will be provided as some beer and soft drinks as well.

25 Barham Ave Morphettville is the place and bring ya togs and towel (and another change of clothes) as the spa will be on.

Please let me know if you are attending asap so we can work out what we need.

On things to come pre season for summer ball 2010/11 will start on sat 11th at home 12pm. please if you are interested in playing please let me know asap so we can plan for this too.
